Meet the Author

After writing her first story at age six about a squirrel named Samantha, Page Three Publishing founder and award-winning author Michelle Richards knew she wanted to be a writer.  Her dream started to bloom at age nine when she realized she could write poetry, and then she received a series of literary awards in elementary school; but Michelle had no idea that her biggest nightmare would become the stepping stone to accomplishing her greatest dream of being an author. After becoming a victim of child molestation, Michelle wrote It Could Never Happen to Me, a story that deals with sexual abuse and activity among young teens, when she was 14-years-old.

Michelle went on to receive additional literary awards in high school before graduating from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with an English degree. She published It Could Never Happen to Me shortly thereafter and it became her best-selling debut novel.  Michelle continued to build her writing career by becoming a Youth Columnist for a Toronto newspaper. The position allowed her to interact with young people often, and this made her even more passionate about the positive empowerment of youth culture.  She has addressed over 2000 young people to date as a public speaker at events hosted by community schools and non-profit organizations such as The United Way and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel.

Michelle received an Arts Acclaim Award from her hometown for her acheivements in publishing including the release of her second novel, Sweet & Sour Honey, a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl’s rocky rollercoaster ride to womanhood.  Michelle plans to continue writing and publishing books for youths.
